Bungee jumping
For lovers of adrenaline and excitement, one of the favourite activities is certainly bungee jumping from high points, defying the laws of gravity and putting one's courage to the test.
The highest point in Italy from where you can jump with a bungee cord is the Valgàdena bridge, the fourth highest viaduct in Italy. The bridge crosses the Valgadena valley connecting the towns of Foza and Enego on the Asiago plateau, in the province of Vicenza.
Opened in 1990, because of its imposing height, it very soon was elected as an ideal place for the practice of bungee jumping: from the bridge, it is possible to bungee jump about 175 metres; to challenge higher heights in Italy, you have to jump out of a helicopter or hot air balloon. The organisation available on site offers officially approved slings and equipment, with the possibility to book jumps on the days the bridge is open to the public.
You can reach the Valgadena bridge from Foza or Enego, along the road connecting the two towns of the Asiago plateau: continue down via Castagni (for those coming from Foza), or via Stoner, if coming from Enego. The viaduct is located at an altitude of about 800 metres above sea level.
