Cortina d'Ampezzo
Alexander Hall Multi-Functional Centre
The centre is located in the Alexander Hall in Cortina where renowned conventions and trade fairs take place throughout the year. The centre has ties
with the impressive open-air museum in Lagazuoi - 5 Torri, an area which was fought over by the Italian and Austro-Hungarian armies between 1915
and 1917. In the course of the fi ghting underground defence shafts and passageways were even dug directly into the mountains. Remains of these
artefacts such as the passageways of the Goiginger tunnel, the "hanging settlement" of Cengia Martini and the "Vonbank emplacement" are still visible today.
